Q : Is KEEOGO easy to wear?

Yes. When you are at home, you can expect to take about 5 minutes to put on KEEOGO.

The very first time you are fitted for a KEEOGO by a certified therapist there will be two steps:

  1. a mechanical adjustment and
  2. software programming both customized to your needs.

The mechanical adjustments include adjusting the frame, contact areas and belt to your body height and weight to ensure comfort and in-sync movement between your body and the device. The software programming includes adjusting the assistance levels and parameters to your personal needs i.e. more strength for your weaker side. Q: Is the unit a one-size-fit-all?

KEEOGO is designed to fit those with a waist size of 26 to 42 inches, and a height of above 5 feet (155 cm). The device is adjusted for each user. In addition, the level of support is adjustable for different movements according to the needs of the person, using a configuration software. It is also possible to control the amount of assistance manually with a control unit.

Q: Is the unit a one-size-fit-all?

Yes. KEEOGO is very well suited for rehabilitation and for home use. It is possible to adjust the strength that KEEOGO provides according to the needs of each person. KEEOGO help you keep moving which helps build and strengthen your muscles.

Q: Is it possible to use KEEOGO for one leg?

Yes.  KEEOGO will help with a unilateral mobility issue. However, KEEOGO is designed to assist the individual’s complete locomotor system and is worn on both legs. By supplying power and stability to both legs, KEEOGO reduces problem walking patterns and gives the user the leg power required to keep on moving throughout the day in a proper and efficient manner.

Q: Does KEEOGO require a lot of maintenance?

Since it is a high-tech device, it is important to maintain it regularly. Preventive maintenance at 6 months is include in all our acquisition options.

Q: Is the system robust? Can it withstand extreme temperatures and rain?

The device was originally designed for military application, so it is very robust. There is no problem walking outside with the device, during winter in the snow or under light rain. It cannot be used in heavy rain or submerged in water, like any other electronic device. KEEOGO must always be started inside if it is cold outside.

Q: How long do the batteries last? How long does it take to recharge them?

The batteries can last from 1 to 4 hours depending on the use and take 1.5 hour to recharge. You should have 2 batteries, always a backup.

Q: Do I wear KEEOGO under or over my clothing?

KEEOGO ’s streamlined design is intended to be worn over clothing.

Q: Can I drive a car while wearing KEEOGO?

Yes, it is possible to get in and out of a car while wearing KEEOGO however the power must be turned off completely while driving.

Q: Is it possible to take a plane with the device on?

Yes, however, you will not be able to pass through the magnetic metal detector with KEEOGO on you. You must go through a manual check. You will also need a doctor’s prescription.

Q: How do I try a KEEOGO? 3 Easy Steps (in Canada only)

Step 1: Pre-evaluation:

The first step is to complete a questionnaire to have an evaluation with one of our clinical specialist.

Step 2: Evaluation:

If your answers indicate that KEEOGO could potentially be beneficial for your mobility needs, you will be invited to an evaluation session to try the device. The evaluation session lasts about one hour.

Step 3: Trial:

Following the assessment, if you are interested in acquiring or renting a KEEOGO device, you will be invited to try it at home for 21 days. This trial period is important to clearly assess how KEEOGO integrates in your daily life.
